SCAS is inviting current staff in the Primary School to put forward an expression of interest for the position of SEC Primary Teacher. This role is a part time 0.6 position and temporary for 2023. This role is not a component of a full time load. The role of the Primary Sustainability Environmental Centre Teacher is to promote, develop and implement a Deeper Learning approach to Science, environmental sustainability and Indigenous perspectives within Primary programs and co-curricular activities. Working alongside teachers, the SEC teacher will plan and implement innovative units of work that will utilise the SEC resources, including technology, natural environment and community resources.Criteria Demonstrated ability to develop and implement high quality, innovative inquiry-based Science programs. Demonstrated a commitment to improving sustainability at St Columba. Demonstrated commitment to Indigenous perspectives in education.Highly developed organisational and planning skills.Collaborative in a professional setting.Dependability and reliability.Demonstrated ability to liaise effectively with a variety of outside organisations.High-level communication and interpersonal skills, both written and oral. Applications must be made through the HR Portal on the SCAS website - no later than 28th October 2022. At interview applicants will be asked to prepare a presentation based on their understanding of Deeper Learning within the context of the SEC in both curricular and cocurricular.
